This immersive camp experience includes field trips to cultural landmarks, games & activities, hands-on workshops in traditional arts, and guided discussions.

They will walk through ancient temples and modern cityscapes. Learn the significance of Chinese festivals, family values, along with culture & customs etiquette.

Actively participate in calligraphy, martial arts, tea ceremonies, and more.  This experience will cause students to appreciate the world's diversity and help them better understand the value and influence in their future as global citizens of diplomacy.

Acculturation Counselor Leadership Opportunity- Ages 16 & 17 Enjoy all the fun games, activities, and travel, but do it as an Acculturation Counselor Leader! Acculturation Counselors earn a certificate of volunteer leadership that awards 25 hours of international community service. (Great for National Honor Society students)

Cost: $2,100  (includes international round-trip airfare from EWR to Hong Kong, all land transfer & transport in China, all camp programs, all itinerary locations and admission costs, all lodging in China (2 students per room), all food. 

All travelers MUST possess a valid US passport with at least 6 months remaining from the return trip date. Therefore, passports must be valid through FEBRUARY 16, 2026

*China does require a travel visa.  This process takes about 3 weeks and involves an online application to be completed, printed, and sent along with the student’s passport. (Clear details will be provided) The courier will hand-deliver to the Chinese consulate for approval. This is an additional $300 cost unless the student already has a valid Chinese tourist visa.

PAYMENT DETAILS & NEXT STEPS

Set up a Zoom call or FaceTime interview call with Steve.

Student will submit a 3 paragraph email introducing themselves and sharing their hopes and perceived life-value of this travel experience.   This, along with a $300 non-refundable deposit is due by June 25.  Also attach a clear copy of valid student passport page.

Early July-  Payment of $300 for Chinese travel visa will be made payable to Cross Country Travel.   Additional details fothcoming.

When approved Chinese travel visa is received, the balance of program cost is due.  Airline ticket will then be reserved in the student's passport name.

By July 18- parents will sign up for travel insurance plan and submit proof of purchase.

Once airticket is reserved and camp balance paid, no refunds will be given.  Refer to insurance cancellation details and exceptions.
